2025 Club Info and Ride Schedule

Bancroft Broken Spokes Cycling Club Information

March 27, 2025

The Bancroft Broken Spokes Cycling Club is entering its 33 rd year of
operation! We have members of all ages, abilities, fitness levels and interests. Our main focus is recreational road and off-road cycling, but several of our riders compete at various events.

This year our Cadet Ride (children) is going to become an all-ages ride. We are hoping this will give older riders, people new to cycling, or new to the area, a chance to ride at a slower pace, and learn our trail system, while helping to manage our younger riders.

Our $40 membership fee goes towards club affiliation with the
International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA Canada), and liability insurance
through OASIS (Outdoor Adventure & Sport Insurance Solutions).

So, why join a cycling club when I can ride for free?

 Membership to Bancroft Broken Spokes Cycling Club
 Affiliation with IMBA Canada
 OASIS insurance coverage
 Learn on and off-road bicycle handling skills
 Learn basic bike maintenance and repair skills
 Learn to make informed cycling purchases
 Access to years of knowledge from experienced riders
 Increased fitness and health
 A chance to master a physically challenging activity
 Social gatherings, outings, special rides
 A chance to learn our local trail network.

Our rides begin as soon as roads are clear and trails are dry and ready. You can
check our web site www.bancroftbrokenspokes.com for updates.

Bancroft Broken Spokes Cycling Club Ride Nights

Monday- All Ages Ride (Formerly Cadet Ride)
Alternating between meeting at Millennium Park and Joy Bible Camp,
this ride has been our beginner ride. This year we are hoping to attract
older riders new to mountain/trail riding, or new to the area, or riders
looking for an easier pace. A well-tuned mountain bike and helmet are
required.

Tuesday-Easy Road Ride
Meets at Bird’s Creek Public School. A slower paced road and gravel
ride for those new to riding. Usually 1 to 2 hours in length on township
pavement and gravel roads. Riders used this ride as training for the Hilly
Hundred last year.

Thursday-Mountain Bike Ride
Alternates between Millennium Park, Joy Bible Camp and other trail
systems. A faster paced ride for experienced and fit riders.

Saturday and Sunday
Opportunity to ride at nearby trail systems or local competitions or
organized rides.
